Dark Curves Vase nº1
This stunning vase was handcrafted using the coil building technique. A slow, meditative process by which the vase grows organically into its desired shape, guided by the artist’s knowing touch. Its surface is adorned by tiny ridges that come together to form a unified wave pattern. These ridges came about naturally as the fingers of the artist worked the surface of the clay, as the piece’s surface was neither decorated nor polished after completion of the piece.
The Dark Curves Vase was left unglazed to highlight the beauty of the raw clay. As such, it’s intention is purely decorative as it’s a sculptural piece. Dry flowers can be placed inside it, but it is unsuitable to hold live ones, as it cannot hold water.
